From the Friday, August 27th issue of The New York Sun, a glowing review/summary of the New York Fringe Festival production of The Passion of George W. Bush

Sure, the New York Times ignored us...but the Scotsman, Scotland's National Newspaper, is paying attention!

"Leaving the sinking "U.S.S. John Kerry" swiftboat for a spell - er, actually smell, because we see that beginning today, a bunch of stinking, unkempt, unshaven professional bitcher/moaners are dropping in on New York like fleas on a dirty dog. Oh, yeah, they're calling themselves "protestors", but of course that's like calling a prostitute a "significant other...." - an "artistic side" of these "protests," including the showing of such plays as The Passion of George W Bush, a musical that follows "our hero from youth to adulthood, from drunkard to president" as he "spreads his father’s gospel across the land"

The New York Sun, one of NYC's more conservative papers published this survey of Political Theatre at the Fringe Festival including an interview with Adam.

"All the elements here coalesce into a fine production: the director Simon Hammerstein, the choreographer Dontee Kiehn, the rock combo led by Jana Zielonka, and the terrific cast—Craig Baldwin, Charles Browning, Chad Coudriet, Thursday Farrar, Michael Gladis, Jennifer Houseal, Shannon Polly, Jonathan Putterman and Colin Stokes. Kudos to the authors: book and lyrics by John Herin and Adam B. Mathias; music by Alden Terry. They have created an edgy satire with a message using a rock score that supports the material without overwhelming it."

The Passion has gone international! A literal translation of this Dutch blog reveals "The texts are originating from Herin and Mathias with music of eels Terry. Collen Stokes (rather in the musical I Love you, you're now change perfectly to see) will play the role of Bush. Michael Gladis crawl in the skin of Dick Cheney. Shannon Polly have the honour the first lady, Barabara play Bush. The control is of Simon Hammerstein."
